On Tuesday, the Sandbox team announced their partnership with nWay, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands. Through the partnership, the Metaverse gaming platform aims to bring value to select Apex athletes.
The Sandbox and Apex Athlete Partnership
Per the announcement, Shaun White, Nathan Chen, Chloe Kim, Lindsey Vonn, and Ayumu Hirano Apex Athletes NFTs will receive their exclusive 3D avatar skins in The Sandbox.
With 26 winter athletes, the Apex Athletes collection consists of 2,000 NFTs. In addition to images and videos from the athlete’s collection, the collection also includes some exclusive signed versions.
A private sale took place on April 21st Apex Athletes website. Following this, Apex Athletes has scheduled a public sale for April 26th. For private and public sale, Apex Athletes coin price is 0.05 ETH and 0.07 ETH respectively.
Apex athletes future plans
In fact, this collaboration is the first in a series of utilities nWay has planned for Apex Athletes. As nWay continues to develop new projects, it plans to collaborate with other Animoca Brands projects.
Additionally, The Sandbox has mentioned ongoing discussions with nWay to create an “Apex Athletes Winter Park.” Additionally, it will be built in The Sandbox Metaverse, “where players can shred down the snowboard halfpipe or show off the quadruple axel jump at the ice rink.”
Built on the Ethereum blockchain, The Sandbox is a virtual world where users can create, own, and monetize gaming experiences. Of late, the platform has been steadily filling its Metaverse space with celebrities and notable projects.
