Famous Japanese artist Takashi Murakami launches CloneX Chains together with RTFKT Studios and Crown Collection. The chains will be limited edition and only available to Murakami and the RTFKT team.
CloneX Chains: Symbol of the partnership between Murakami and RTFKT
Murakami’s most recent collaboration was with RTFKT studios. Together they started an NFT avatar project called CloneX which is a huge success. For example, a rare CloneX NFT was selling for a whopping 450 ETH or $1.25 million at the time of the transaction. The vibrant NFT collection reached great heights, achieving blue-chip NFT status less than a year after its launch.
To celebrate the partnership, Steven Zaptoi, CEO and co-founder of RTFKT, sought out Crown Collection’s Ryan Rehbock to create the CloneX chains.
The chains are slightly similar to those worn by some of the 3D characters from the CloneX NFT collection. The lock of the 18k white gold Miami Cuban link necklace features Murakami’s signature floral motif. At the other end is the RTFKT logo in an animated Murakami art style.
Roebuck used natural gemstones such as blue and purple topaz, pink sapphire and ruby. Detailed enamel work surrounds the beautiful gemstones, making the chain an eye-catching detail.
In addition to the CloneX chain, a large-format sculpture in the stylized RTFKT design also celebrates the fruitful partnership. Murakami fans can view the sculpture on May 11, 2022 in Gagosian, New York City during Murakami’s three-part exhibition, An Arrow Through History.
