It has been announced that Fox is collaborating with Rick & Morty creator Dan Harmon to create a new animated NFT series titled Krapopolis, which is an animated comedy series. Additionally, Fox announces its NFT company to “help art meet technology.” The trade fair will break new technological ground in sales and marketing.

The ‘Krapopolis’ series
Krapopolis is being created as an animated comedy series, similar to Harmon’s famous Rick & Morty, however this one will be set in ancient Greece and “focus on a flawed family of humans, gods and monsters trying to rule one of the worlds from the first series, without killing each other.” It is said to be the first-ever animated series to be curated entirely on the blockchain. It’s Fox’s first-ever entry into the NFT ecosystem. Fox has also said they are launching a new NFT company called Blockchain Creative Labs.
The voice cast is as follows: Duncan Trussell, Pam Murphy, Hannah Waddingham, Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry.
Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier told advertisers during a company presentation, “As an advertiser-focused, artist-centric, and animation-obsessed company, Fox will take advertisers into the world of blockchain-powered tokens, including NFTs and Dans Series, currently eligible Krapopolis, will be the first to be fully curated on the blockchain. And just as we do for our own animation, we help your brands connect directly with fans and enthusiasts through NFTs. With and for you, Fox will help art meet brands and technology.”
A dedicated marketplace for the “Krapopolis” series will be created, selling digital goods such as NFTs and experience-based tokens.
About Dan Harmon
Dan Harmon is an American writer, producer and actor. Some of his best-known works are Ricky & Morty, which he worked on, and Community, which he created and produced. He has been active in various projects since 1996.
In addition to his most famous work, Harmon also co-founded alternative television station and website Channel 101. They have a non-profit monthly short film festival in LA. Participants submit a short film in the format of a pilot under five minutes in length. The event is structured so that a panel of judges from previously successful submitters will select which pilots will be screened and a live audience at The Downtown Independent will decide which pilots will continue as a series for the next screening. Krapopolis is his next work project.
The other Rick & Morty co-creator, Justin Roiland, published Doodle NFTs on Nifty Gateway last year. These NFTs were titled “The Best I Could Do.” This included a Rick & Morty doodle as well as some other random doodles. ‘The Smintons’, a 1/1, sold for $290,000. It’s Basic Tree Guy sold the lowest, with the 100-piece run costing $10 each in primary sale, and the final sale for this copy is $500. This collection was followed by an auction at Sotheby’s.
