This is an opinion editorial by Shinobi, a self-taught bitcoin educator and tech-savvy bitcoin podcast host.

Ignoring the Lightning network and protocol stack issues seems very popular these days. It is currently the most widely used second layer of the Bitcoin network and the fastest moving in terms of advancement. It also has many flaws that can easily be swept under the rug and circumvented as it is very small and in the very early stages of launch. But that doesn’t make these problems go away or change the reality that, on a much larger scale and further along the acceptance curve, these problems are becoming very real problems that actually require scalable solutions.
