Warner Bros has announced their latest adventure in NFT land, bringing our favorite Looney Tunes to life as NFTs. Cleverly titled What’s Up Block, the project seeks to leverage the storytelling properties of Looney Tunes’ intellectual property. Owners of these Looney Characters get access to virtual meet and greet talents, exclusive never-before-seen content, new NFT drops, and more.
Looney Tunes bring their NFT game
To celebrate his 80th anniversary, the first Looney Tunes character to receive a Web3 makeover will receive Tweety Pie, the only yellow canary. 10,000 Tweety avatars with different attributes will go live to the public on June 21 for less than $100.
In addition, the Tweety Pie collection will make its mark on the Palm network due to its low cost and speed. In addition to low gas costs, buyers have the option to purchase their Tweety avatars using fiat or cryptocurrency (DAI on the Palm blockchain).
Owners of the previous ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’, NFT, will get access to the collection pre-sale taking place on June 20th at Nifty’s. However, a snapshot will be taken on June 15 for all those entitled. So if you’re planning on grabbing a spot to mint early, hurry up. Eligible members must own a Rare, Epic, or Legendary Tweety Space Jam NFT or any Monstars NFT. After the public coin, the collection will be unveiled on June 23rd.
Additionally, Warner Bros will withhold approximately 3% of each character’s NFTs from the initial sale. According to the team, the NFTs will be used for community activities, giveaways, customer service resolutions, and promotional purposes throughout the project’s many phases. While Tweety comes to the block alone, more Looney companions are on their way to join. Featuring characters like Bugs, Daffy Duck and Marvin the Martian coming soon.
For now: “That’s all, folks.”
