Jeroom Snelders, a Flemish cartoonist, will publish his first ever NFT collection. Venly, a major blockchain technology provider, will work with online auction marketplace Catawiki to create and distribute Snelders’ NFTs.

What do we know about the Jeroom Snelders Genesis NFT collection?
Jeroom Snelders will auction 40 artworks in its first collection. It will feature some of his best work for Belgian weekly Humo and Reddit.
Buyers will receive an NFT of the cartoon in a Venly wallet. In addition, they will also receive a physical print of the artwork. Snelders fans can also trade the NFTs after the primary auction on the Venly marketplace.
“It’s the first time in 45 years that my original work is for sale. That means my fans have had 45 years to save up,” Snelders said jokingly.
The five highest bidders receive a surprise from the artist: Snelders hands over the pieces personally.
When and where can collectors get the Snelders NFTs?
The auction for the NFT collection runs from May 31st to June 12th. Collectors can purchase them on Venly Market, a blockchain-agnostic peer-to-peer marketplace formerly known as Arkane Network. The platform allows artists to promote their collections and retain royalties on any secondary sales. Basically, Jeroom automatically receives royalties of up to 10% on every resale of NFTs.
“NFTs are a great tool for digital artists because they allow them to continue earning as their artworks become more successful. And with Venly, artists have access to incredibly easy-to-use tools to connect with their audience,” says Yan Ketelers, CMO of Venly.
“We are very excited to be collaborating with Belgian icon Jeroom and Catawiki and hope to bring people a little closer to NFTs through this auction,” added Ketelers.
