Sports betting site DraftKings has partnered with UFC to release an interactive NFT collection. Released as part of the Reignmakers football series, DraftKings UFC NFTs allow fans to build collections of UFC fighters to compete in fantasy sports. About the UFC Collection by DraftKings
according to a press release, the first UFC NFTs will be released as DraftKings’ “Heatwave Collection.” The platform will base the NFTs on this summer’s UFC schedule of events. It begins with the July 2 match between Israel Adesanya and Jared Cannonier.
All told, the partnership gives DraftKings access to fighter IP from over 500 different active UFC athletes. Also, NFT holders get perks including access to “special” daily fantasy competitions. Additionally, fans can enter these contests to win cash, personalized merch, and more.
“UFC has been an amazing collaborator over the years,” said Beth Beiriger, SVP of Product Operations for DraftKings Marketplace. “Fight fans are already one of the most engaged audiences, and we see these immersive technologies as strengthening the unique sports-entertainment ecosystem we offer consumers while rewarding their undeniable passion.”
DraftKings is currently developing the exclusive UFC game Reignmakers. After launch, it will have features like missions, achievements, level ups and leaderboards.
