Latvian airline airBaltic announced the creation of its own Planies NFT Discord Club. Not only does it open up new ways to connect with the NFT travel community, but it also provides in-depth insights into the program.
AirBaltic Planies NFT Collection
Powered by the Ethereum blockchain, The Planies NFT collection includes 10,000 unique cartoon airplane collectibles. Powered by airBaltic, airBaltic generated each Planie NFT consists of 180 unique features, such as wings, engines, mouth, eyes, etc.
In addition to owning unique NFTs, Planies holders also enjoy various travel-related benefits from airBaltic Club Loyalty Program. It includes loyalty points, coupons and other surprising privileges.
The airline’s CEO, Martin Gauss, explains the airline’s vision: “We have seen a lot of interest in our first NFTs, the airBaltic City Collection, and now we are taking the next step. By providing additional benefits such as frequent flyer points or certain coupons, we add value to collectors. It is the first step in preparing the airBaltic Club loyalty program for crypto tokenization in the future.”

Later, airBaltic became the world’s first airline to issue NFTs. To date, the airline has released ten editions of the airBaltic City Collection.
